das áreas da Urgência / Cuidados Intensivos, Infecciologia

/ MedicinaTropical e eventualmente Neurologia.Adicional-

mente o diagnóstico correcto destas situações requer acesso

a recursos laboratoriais adequados, principalmente na área

da Microbiologia e Parasitologia médicas, com frequência

disponíveis apenas em laboratórios de referência.

Esta partilha de saber sobre Emergências médicas noViajan-

te tenta contribuir para o conhecimento dos problemas rela-

cionados com as principais doenças tropicais importadas e a

sua gravidade, servindo como alerta para os profissionais de

saúde para a sua rápida suspeita, identificação, diagnóstico e

tratamento dos viajantes/migrantes/doentes.

Na base deste processo de identificação correcta destas situ-

ações clínicas estarão sempre o conhecimento da Geografia

Médica e a realização de uma anamnese detalhada e cuida-

dosa.
