rather to highlight some relevant aspects that use both traditionaland
more recent and innovative approaches, bearing inmindthechallenges
posed by newtechnologies applied to the study and control of both
vectors and intermediate hosts, with references to the contributionof
the research carried out at the IHMT over the years, whichwascentral
for the control of many diseases with strong impact on humanhealth
and veterinary medicine. Various aspects of the bio-ecology of two
trypanosomatid vectors, of the interactions between
Plasmodium
and
malaria vectors and of the role of snails as intermediate hosts of
helminthes, will be addressed.
