Coordinator of the team that studied the process of creation and development of
public–private partnerships (2008–2009), and was one of the two coordinators
of the National Health Plan (2009–2010). He has published on health policies,
health care evaluation, health planning and health regulation, including dozens
of articles in several publications, five books as author and seven books as
editor/coordinator.
Gonçalo Figueiredo Augusto
(MD, MSPH) is a doctor specialized in Public
Health and currently a PhD candidate in International Health at the Institute of
Hygiene and Tropical Medicine – NOVA University of Lisbon. He completed
the medical degree from the University of Lisbon (2011) and holds an MSc
in Public Health (MSPH) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine (2014). He completed the specialty training in Public Health in
2017. He was an intern and consultant at the HIV/AIDS Department of the
World Health Organization in Geneva. His research interests include health
systems strengthening and health programmes management, particularly
HIV programmes.
Inês Fronteira
(MPH, PhD) is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Hygiene
and Tropical Medicine – NOVA University of Lisbon. She graduated in Nursing
from the Lisbon School of Nursing Francisco Gentil (2000), holds a Master’s
degree in Public Health from the National School of Public Health – NOVA
University of Lisbon (2002) and a PhD in International Health from the Institute
of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine – NOVA University of Lisbon (2011). Her
main research interests include human resources for health policies, medical
and nursing education, work-related issues in health personnel, migration of
human resources for health and observational epidemiology.
Cristina Hernández-Quevedo
is Technical Officer/Research Fellow at the
European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies (WHO), LSE Health,
London. She edits and co-writes HiT country profiles and works on a range
of Observatory studies. She holds an MSc in Health Economics and a PhD in
Economics from the University of York, the United Kingdom. Her research
interests include inequalities in health and lifestyle factors, equity in access
to health and social care services and socioeconomic determinants of health.
She has published articles on these topics in internationally recognized
scientific journals.
